How I Passed PMP in 1 Month
Everybody could be a project manager. But only the person with solid project management knowledge, proactive engagement and good interpersonal skills will be a good project manager. PMP gives you the chance to learn the common solutions to the problems you faced in the projects over and over again. Before taking the PMP exam, please make sure complete the prerequisites (secondary degree/7500 hours project time or four-year degree/4500 hours project time, 35 hours education.) Let me share with you some experiences to get PMP certified on schedule and under your budget.
Boot Camp
If your company will pay the expense, the quickest way to get PMP in one week is through boot camp. Google PMP boot camp to find it in your local area. Usually, it will cost close to $2000 or get some discounts on the group price.
Self Study
You can take 35 contact hours from any PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). I took the one only cost $35 that is no longer exist. But you can check this link to find the lower price (e.g. Pluralsight only $29 per month). Must review the latest edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK® Guide) The study book Head First PMP is very easy and fun to read. I suggest reading this book before the PMBOK. You can practice mock exams on free PMP practice questions: 120 Sample Test Questions, 7-day free PM simulator and free 50 questions on Whizlabs. Also, Google PM cheat sheet for the final review before the exam day.
Conclusion
Even the PMP exam has 200 questions, it is not very difficult. Relax and enjoy the exam. Bring water, snacks and energy bars with you on the exam day. During this four-hour-exam, you may want to take a break with refreshment. Please note the change on PMP with PMBOK® Guide sixth edition is released on 3/26/2018.
